5:54 am	hotdogs and heartburn After already crossing off three items of the 2guilford summer of fun list i'm starting to feel really good about this upcoming season. However, with this schedule of four days of classes, one online class and 42 hours of work between hootenanny and AFSC I'm going to have to put effort into the success of this...but since I haven't had a free summer since starting college I will make due...i'm thinking of making an official summertime blog-but then again, i think about doing a lot. now: algebra, bills, work & school. later: orange grapefruit delicious (as named by one of the wonderful waitresses) with Colleen. p.s.the cats are at a total of 6 kills in just over one week. savages... 11:02 pm	c'mon snow day...please, please, please! boston public schools are cancelled tomorrow. umass really should be too; i have very valid reasons: we have an awful parking situation and i am very ill-prepared for tomorrow's class. i really don't want to finish this paper, study for a final and do a presentation for tomorrow. oh-and it also doesn't help that i have a roomate who is blasting music with a drunk danny outside making dove calling god knows who. at least i didn't get into a car accident today-or have to ride my bike home like dave. positive: +school is almost over +global warming hasn't taken full effect just yet +i've been promoted to coordinator at work +we have an amazing christmas tree +kaitlyn's birthday is this weekend +steph and anders' housewarming party is this weekend +i have a 3 foot flat screen tv negative: -i still have a week of school left -the snow is still melting so it looks like i'll still have school tomorrow -i have to work 35+ hours a week while going to school full time and working at hootenanny...and complete year end paperwork, a new fiscal budget and hire an intern by christmas -our christmas tree is still on the porch because no one has time to decorate it -kaitlyn and steph's party are the same night -i can't put the tv in my living room as it will get broken in about 5 seconds ...i'm going to go put lola in the snow now-let's see what happens! 12:47 am	candy apples and razorblades...it's coming! So summer is officially over. I'm studying for my first quiz and working on an assignment for work. Although I never really had a summer vacation as I took classes the whole summer I'm still really bummed that this time of year is ending. It freaked me out not to have a vacation, I felt like an "adult" and realized what it would be like to have no real substantial break from things. And due to my anxiety of a life barren of endless days with nothing to do and my affinity for trips I've decided when I am covered enough to substantiate getting knuckle tattoos I will simply be getting the world "vacation". And now, a summary of my summer... The motorcycle trip was alright, and in retrospect hy-fucking-sterical! Being held up due to our laundry being doused in beer, Dave and i departed much later than anticipated and instead of beating a rain storm down to NC, we rode with it. At first it was almost romantic (in a really bad movie kind of way) to have to sit under bridges waiting for the rain to stop, but it was ultimately terrifying in the end when we had to putt along on the bike 5 miles in knee deep rain while it continued downpour until we found a motel. Heavy Rebel was great, we saw a lot of awesome bands and beautiful cars. On the return ride home we stopped at "roadside america: world of minatures" which is a definat must see if you're ever in PA amish country. I guess a more encompassing and yet shorter summary would be: wet clothing, king of the hill, wingate inn (pools and hot breakfast), busted motorcycle and subsequently bikers with braided hair, rockabilly music, custom cars and cracker barrell. I guess it was all a lesson for me in that things cannot always go as planned. Not only had I booked hotel rooms, but I'd planned what diners we were to stop at and what roadside attactions we'd pose with. True the roadside motel we watched fireworks at in Sleepy Hollow, NY wasn't nearly as nice as a small town in PA, it was still fun and exciting. Savannah was really adorable, when Kate said her new home was virtually the size of Quincy Center I thought she had been exaggerating...not at all. However, we had a great time. We went out dancing and to a chocolate bar; I got a white chocolate pomegranite martini and a slice of strawberry cake. Kate also brought me on a mini roadtrip to Hilton Head beach where were both burned and had the worst margaritas ever. I almost came home with a dozen puppies as I wanted to save them from the backyard breeders who were selling them like knock off handbags at the flea market. An extremely talented, nice guy named Zack tattooed Kate and I for our ten year anniversary...now we're stuck with eachother for life! More stuff happened in between my two trips to the south at the beginning and end of the summer. The filler can be summarized with: work, school, BBQ, beach, cape cod, motorcycles, parties, slushy drinks and bodies of water. 8:26 pm	a dog named spencer New Lows is practicing in the basement and there's some sort of Brazilian block party involving a pig on a spit, accordian music and lots of yelling going on outside...i feel drunk..more uneasy than drunk i guess. I think I'm dehydrated, all we have in the house to drink is alcoholic...my two best options are orange liquor or smirnoff water. I can't leave the house for fear of being held up missing the beginning of the sopranos finale. I celebrated the end of my official school year on colleen's birthday by drinking 9 screwdrivers and a vodka and redbull....it's imperative that i initiate the beginning of summer in the same fashion, which is why kaitlyn and i are throwing a fiesta, we'll show these brazilians who can really throw a party! Anyway, back to roadtrip planning, scooter fixing and eagerly awaiting the arrival of a baby pit bull. p.s. if anyone knows where i can get a free lawn mower holla at me...the yard is a jungle! IS FUCKING AMAZING! dave talked me out of getting the puppy i've been obsessed with recently on petfinder. even though i am fortunate enough to have a yard in the city, it isn't fenced in and he will need to run around a lot...lola will have to wait a little longer for a friend. how cute is he though?! i've been writing this documentry photo paper for the past few hours and my brain is fried, i think i'm going insane! it also doesn't help that i can't pinpoint the spot where someone urinated in my room at the lovely lads show on saturday and it still reeks of piss in here. nice huh? i just watched .3 seconds of this show "the hills" on mtv. i've known some pretty awful people in my life, but non can compare to this one dude on the show who says "babe" all too much and regifts flowers from one girl to another...and when he cheats on his girlfriend and she catches him, he claims it's practice for their dates! on that note...time for bed. 12:00 am	merch is for chooches. After perusing the internet all day long (i'm sick fuck you) i have decided i HATE bands who put out more merch than albums. Social Distortion is the perfect example (granted i still love them!) but with the amount of new merch they have you'd think they'd have made an album in the last year or so. I got so many cute x-mas gifts. Dave got me the coolest vintage virgin mary planter that's made out of white porcelin and looks so 1950's. I'll have the buy the prettiest plant for it now. 4:13 pm	summer rain... my last day of summer and second day of spring were pretty great. i was supposed to work at my new internship for the society of friends, but the air conditioner was broken and the quakers couldn't deal-so i had two vacation days. Both days consisted of motorcycle riding with dave and going to the beach. once with kate and andrea and again yesterday with dave to find shells and walk around. on the way to meet the marshall sisters at the beach i saw the man who i think all advertising is aimed at, John Q Customer if you will. he was driving a bright green scion adorned with a mac sticker on the back window. whil driving this man was talking on his hands free cellphone (with the headset) WHILE shaving with an electric razor. i don't understand how this guy can function for more than 5 mn without needing a nap/to kill himself. he stressed me out. i better get back to making these record tables and watching roseanne. 10:14 pm	it snowed today.... today was a really awful day, but dave told me i have been very negative lately so i'm attempting to only focus on the positive.... it snowed today outside at the riverway...all of those cotton ball flower things were floating everywhere, it looked really pretty. french was amazing as my professor is the cutest woman that has ever lived and tells us stories about her "dirty dancing" days. did i mention she is like 80? i find out tomorrow if i have my internship working with homeless people for the QUAKERS; which i am so pumped on. the quaker meeting house in cambridge is so fucking nice. i helped them set up for their "retreat" the other day and drove the house arrest volunteers successfully back to their home without incident the other day. i am made for this internship! it also doesn't help that it pays pretty decent, which is great since i am pretty poor these days. anyway, back snuggling with the cat and watching john fogherty live and "hairdos and heartache: the women of country music".
